CAIRO — Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas received here yesterday a delegation of the Omani Journalist Association (OJA) led by Salim bin Hamad al Jahwari, Deputy Chairman of the OJA. Abbas hailed the Sultanate’s stands in support of the Palestinian people and their legitimate cause. Abbas said that Arab journalists have a role enlighten public opinion about Israel’s occupation of Palestinian and Arab lands. He called for action to stand in the face of Netanyahu government’s decision to annex more Palestinian lands through the continuous construction of settlements. Abbas accepted a memento from OJA on behalf of Omani journalists, whom he thanked and commended. Abbas said that recognition of the State of Palestine came as a deterrent against Israeli ambitions to prevent the two-state solution.
