Chadema embarks on e-administration

BY GAMBA MASSAU

9th October 2013

Chadema National Chairperson, Freeman Mbowe
Chadema has announced plans to start running its activities electronically to compliment the party’s decentralisation policy by allowing party members to participate effectively through the e-system.

Speaking during the opening of a four-day training to zonal trainers and professionals from different fields yesterday in Dar es Salaam, Chadema National Chairperson, Freeman Mbowe said they want to be an ‘e-party’.

“The party gives special training to its professionals to take part particularly in administration matters using digital technology… our trainers will have easy access to members’ information for clear evaluation of the party’s activities,” explained Mbowe.
Mbowe went on to explain that to strengthen its decentralisation policy, the party has almost 60 to 75 professionals from each zone who are experts in various fields receive the training in order to run the party’s activities smoothly.

“This is part of our special strategy to recognise the talents that we have…it will improve particularly administration and build a sustainable nation,” he said noting that they have also received trainees from Namibia and Ghana to receive training on democratic matters.

Chadema Director of Training and Organisation, Benson Kigaira said the four-day training will cover different areas of the party that need improvement and each day will cover a particular theme.

“On day one of the training we will discuss how to commit ourselves to our principals, day two will be about election and members registration, day three will cover our presence in zones, regions and constituencies and on the last day will be on members’ software database,” said Kigaira.
