NRIs as nominated members in India Parliament?

Ever wondered having expatriate Indians nominated to Rajya Sabha as its members? External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s praised a journalist for his suggestion for having up to six expatriate Indians, nominated to the Rajya Sabha.The journalist suggested that given the huge contribution being made by the diaspora to their motherland, the government should have at least one expatriate Indian from each continent nominated to the Rajya Sabha so that they could be the voice of Indian communities abroad in Parliament.
