The mosque stretches over 41,473 square metres in Al Maddarrah area of 5,700 square metres built up area and the remainder area dedicated for plants, green spaces and public parks. It includes the main prayer area, a VIP lounge, a room for the preachers, a library, three classroom, maintenance room, administration office and guard room.
The praying area, which stretches over 1,730 square metres, accommodates 2,403 people. The lobby accommodates 121 people, in addition to the centre areas — 243 square metres — which accommodates 338 people. The mosque is provided with a prayer area for women which can accommodate 268 women.
The facilities also include 34 WCs, a library, two 500 metre high minarets, 402 parking lots, green spaces and small garden for children.
Sultan Qaboos Mosque in the Wilayat of Samayil is one of the landmarks of the Blessed Renaissance in the wilayat and an addition to the achievements witnessed by the wilayat during the Blessed era of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.
The decorations of the mosque are a unique mixture of old Islamic architecture and modern designs.
