Addressing a press conference in Dar es Salaam, Rev Mtikila said his lawyers are working on the details about the two aspirants before moving on with the legal procedures.
Given the allegations levelled against the two, he said they don’t meet the criteria of being elected and instead they should be thrown into jail to pay for what they have done.
“It is very surprising to see that people who are alleged to have misused public properties while in office are the ones endorsed to contest for presidency,” he said.
“They should have already been taken into court and thereafter thrown into jail to pay for their mistakes, that have cost the nation billions of shillings,” he added.Rev Mtikila’s move comes at the time when there are only few days before the campaigns for the October general elections begin. He collected the presidential forms from the National Electoral Commission (NEC) on Saturday.
Speaking shortly after picking the forms, Rev Mtikila vowed to file a petition at the High Court to demand the unit, Coalition of the Defenders of Tanganyika Peoples Constitution (UKAWA) to be returned and be used as intended.
According to Rev Mtikila, the coalition currently identified as Defenders of the Peoples Constitution (UKAWA) was formed by the alliance of the opposition of the political parties mainly to defend for the rights of the people of Tanganyika in the constitution making towards forming the government of Tanganyika.
“I was the main founder of the union but I was barred by Chadema and NCCR Mageuzi leaders from taking part in the Ukawa meetings,” he said.
