Suluhu in no compromise mood with 'artiste' opposition duo

Samia Suluhu Hassan, Presidential running mate for CCM
Presidential running mate Samia Suluhu Hassan for CCM has ridiculed the presidential candidate of an opposition coalition saying he and his group were aristes going around seeking out voters in various places by asking to know the problems people face.

Speaking in this northern tourist capital, the running mate told CCM followers to look at the CCM election manifesto and rally others to support the party’s candidate for president, as well as contestants for parliamentary and district council memberships.

She said what the opposition candidate and running mate are doing is daylight drama, as they suppose to talk about how they will handle the problems in like manner as the CCM duo is doing, namely candidate Dr John Magufuli and herself.

Even if they are told all the problems by the residents of those areas, they will not be able to handle them because they are now having pressure on elections. In that case even if they win they are not going to remember all the concerns, she insisted.Samia urged the residents to believe in CCM and its candidates as they are already aware of problems facing the people and instead to seek solutions to those problems.

“I am asking you to stay away from those actors who are just passing around asking to know your problems. If they come ask them which country they are coming from such that they don’t know your problems,” the running mate intoned.

She told the crowd that when CCM is in office it will make sure that they build recycling facilities for mines, while working to improve the management of funds provided by the central government to district councils to uplift youths and women.

She reiterated the candidate’s promise that the next Minister for Works will have a big responsibility of take care of contracts to be issued to long distance drivers in order to improve their status in the transport industry as a whole, to enhance their incomes and the morale to improve transport services.

On her part, the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Regional Administration and Local Governments), Hawa Ghasia urged Arusha residents to believe the presidential candidate brought up by the ruling party because he is the right fellow, without any suspicions of corruption.

In all the ministries he worked as minister he has never been accused of any fraud and he has never been mentioned in any corruption controversy, she added, raising the veil of the Richmond saga.
