He said at the launch ceremony that, “Through our on the ground presence, extensive knowledge of local African markets and proven expertise in foreign exchange electronic trading solutions, we are uniquely placed to unlock local market liquidity in countries across Africa and Indian Ocean,” Mr Maina said.
He added that Barclays Bank combine over 15 years in local market expertise in foreign exchange trading solutions, over 20 years expertise through Barclays African Group Limited (BAGL) businesses which strategically position the bank to deliver strong and reliable robust dealing environment solution relevant for the Tanzania market.The Barclays Bank Tanzania Country Treasury and Head of Markets Mr Esther Maruma said BARX Africa provide access to the suite of foreign exchange products including spot forwards and swaps as well as improved control over the foreign exchange trade execution.
“With the platform that has been tried and tested, customers could easily get access and trade about 220 currencies across the globe,” she said adding that the technology enable customers to interact with the bank, trade and make easy transactions.
