WALIOCHUKUWA URAIA WA NJE SASA WAJA JUU!

In an unprecedented move showing unity and solidarity, Tanzanians from different Diasporas are coming together kwa hali na mali to file a case in the High Court in Dar Es Salaam against what they term as the usurpation by the State of their cardinal right - the birthright.

A gofundme account has already been opened and money is pouring in kama mvua za masika

Their action is described by many as freedom against discrimination and historians from Tanzania must be seeing this as HISTORY IN THE MAKING!

The shock that this class-action lawsuit will bring to many Tanzanians can only be compared to the one that shook this East African nation of 64 million people on the night of January 19th in 1964.

Tanzanians have never been known since time  immemorial to come together in huge numbers like this in a cause challenging their own government.

On the gofundme page, these  Diasporans are writing about their cause as: "A CAUSE TO PROTECT OUR INALIENABLE RIGHT—BIRTHRIGHT IN OUR COUNTRY OF ORIGINand are going on further on the same page to state that..."Tanzania Diaspora believes, it is being deprived of its inalienable right (The birthright)  by the Tanzania Citizenship Act of 1995. Furthermore, various provisions of the act violates Tanzania constitution and International laws by discriminating, and denying due process.

After consultations with different legal experts and researchers about this law, we are convinced that this very law violates the basic human right by stripping one's citizenship by birth. Further, the 1995 Act is a prime requisite to a Stateless person. The 1995 Act not only strips a Tanzanian born of his/her citizenship, but also deprives Tanzanian children born abroad of their citizenship when they turn adults.

Birthright is sacred. It can never be taken away. We believe citizenship by birth is a God given gift and no man has a right to take away this natural gift.

Subsequently, we have created a GoFundMe account in order to raise Legal fees that will take care of the litigation that is yet to be filled at the Tanzania High Court. We are planning to challenge the “Tanzania citizenship Act” which violates our birthright. Funds raised will support our struggle against this unconstitutional Law".

The page ends by answering some few frequently asked questions.

At the end, the gofundme page is signed by DC INTERIM LEADERSHIP.
