Focus on bilateral ties

MUSCAT — His Majesty Sultan Qaboos gave an audience at Bait al Barakah yesterday to Prince Charles of Wales and Princess Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. During the audience, they reviewed various aspects of existing co-operation between the two countries in a number of spheres in light of the good relations binding them to serve the joint interests of the peoples of the two countries.
The audience was attended by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Nuamani, Minister of the Royal Office, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Dr Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry (Minister Accompanying the Guest), Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah al Hinaei, Sultanate’s Ambassador to the UK, Jamie Bowden, UK Ambassador to the Sultanate, and the delegation accompanying the guest.
Earlier in the day, Prince Charles arrived on a three-day visit to the Sultanate. His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tareq al Said led the welcoming party for the guest and his delegation upon their arrival at Muscat International Airport. An official welcoming ceremony was accorded for the guest. HH Sayyid Haitham greeted the guest and welcomed him, wishing him and his delegation a nice stay in the Sultanate. Later, HH Sayyid Haitham accompanied
the guest to the Dais of Honour where the Protocols Guard of the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO) performed the salute and the Royal Anthem of the United Kingdom (UK) and the Royal Anthem of Oman were played.
Then, the Commandant of the Protocols Guard proceeded to the dais for taking permission from HH Sayyid Haitham and Prince Charles to inspect the first column of the Protocols Guard. After inspecting the Protocols Guard, the guest shook hands with ministers and officials. The visit comes within the framework of the strong bilateral relations binding the two countries and enhancing the existing bilateral co-operation between them in various fields to serve the joint interests of peoples of the two friendly countries. — ONA
