ACB Marketing and Communication officer Dora Saria told reporters yesterday in Dar es Salaam that the bank had developed a ‘Fraud SIM Swap’ device to prevent any scam attempt.
Speaking during the financial week and exhibition she said: “We have introduced the service with the aim of preventing any attempt to defraud. A registered ACB mobile customer would fill in a special form designed to safeguard customers accounts.”
The bank had also introduced finance transferring services particularly for use in repaying various loans through mobile banking, she said.
In addition, ACB had introduced a special programme offering soft loans to various entrepreneurs in groups of at least five people, she said, explaining:
“This will enable them to improve their production capacity and meet current market demands.”
A Kisarawe-based entrepreneur, Leonida John, hailed interventions introduced by various financial institutions in the country. He said it has been much easier than before to acquire loans as was the case in five years ago.
She said they get loans through groups and advised emerging entrepreneurs like her to form groups so that they can easily access soft loans from various banks.
Another entrepreneur, Pascazia Mibazi, who hails from Dar es Salaam explained that there is a good opportunity for SMEs to do business by making use of loans from banks and financial institutions.
She however called upon banks and financial institutions to go to rural-based entrepreneurs in an effort to improve the life of the people in disadvantaged communities.
