With just three days left till the winner of the World Expo 2020 bid is announced, Dubai has linked its name to the Expo indefinitely in the record books.
The logo, which covered 404msq using 360,000 turquoise-blue wrapped pieces of chocolate, was initiated by 600 Emirati students and completed by 85 Emirati men and women in several stages.
The record attempt was the idea of Emirati businesswoman Sara Rashed Al Sanqiti, who runs the desert company Minilicious in Dubai. “We wanted to prove that as Emiratis, we are capable of creating, from scratch, something of this magnitude that can impress the whole world — and we have done it.”
The proceeds from the sale of the chocolate are due to go to charity. Samer Khallouf, Project Manager, Guinness World Records said the winning records were in line with the aims of the championship.
