Government in Latvia falls over supermarket disaster
Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis of Latvia has announced his resignation, and thereby the fall of his government, over a deadly supermarket collapse.
He made the announcement at a meeting with President Andris Berzins, Latvian and other media reported.
"The country needs a government which is capable of resolving the situation which has emerged," he was quoted as saying by the Baltic news agency Delfi.
At least 54 people died when the supermarket collapsed on Thursday.
