"When confronted, the two passengers denied carrying drugs. Nothing was found in their belongings either," said a senior official. However, inconsistencies started emerging as they were questioned and the AIU detained them just before they could exit the airport.
"One of the suspects said he had come for treatment for shoulder pains but he showed a printout of an email to a Mumbai hospital where he had specified stomach pain," said the official.
The AIU needed a court order before they could X-ray the suspects to verify their suspicions and so they took the suspects to a magistrate's court around 5pm to seek permission but while at the court, one of the accused tried to escape but was quickly nabbed.
