Beaches in Zanzibar and Safari adventure

  • Nine nights from £2,120pp.
  • Travel between October 2014 and June 2015

This superb safari holiday will introduce you to the tropical paradise of Zanzibar. Located in the Indian Ocean, the island boasts some of the best beaches in the world, where coconut palms and powder-soft sands are lapped by shimmering, clear water. There are more than 25 fantastic beaches, some are scattered with picturesque fishing villages and others are so peaceful and remote that the only noise breaking the silence is the ocean.
Seven nights will be spent at the perfectly positioned Ocean Paradise, situated on Zanzibar’s picturesque northeast coast, overlooking the turquoise ocean. It is, as the name suggests, a slice of paradise. A white sand beach, beautiful landscaped gardens, traditionally styled round chalets with pitched makuti roofs, a stunning waterfall feature and one of the largest swimming pools in Zanzibar are just some of the delights that await you.
Next, you’ll spend two nights in the heart of the Selous Game Reserve, staying at Sable Mountain Lodge. Relatively untouched, Selous is said to be the largest game reserve in Africa and is rumoured to contain the world’s largest concentration of elephants. There are also large numbers of buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos, lions and rhinos.
Built on two small hills with stunning views from all rooms, Sable Mountain Lodge has just six stone cottages and five tented rooms including two honeymoon suites. There is a unique and friendly Landrover’s Return pub where guests can enjoy a drink after a day on safari and a fresh water swimming pool – perfect for cooling down from the African heat. There is a waterhole just a short walk away and a hideout where you can sit and watch the wildlife roam.
