The Nanny alum, who now appears on TV Land's Happily Divorced, is happily hitched. The 56-year-old married Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai, she announced on Sunday night.
The 56-year-old wore a red, high-neck Badgley Mischka gown, as she exchanged vows with Ayyadurai, who had on a white Ralph Lauren suit and flipflops, at their beachfront home, according to People magazine. The event was intimate with only close friends and family in attendance.
Ayyadurai, 50, is a scientist who holds the patent for creating email, which he started developing as a 14-year-old in his New Jersey high school. He also works with Deepak Chopra, having created an educational program for the Chopra Center, and it was at an event hosted by the New Age guru where he was introduced to Drescher just over a year ago.
"Fran heard my talk and we fell in love, and we've been together since that talk," he toldHuffington Post in August. "Every day is a celebration with Fran.
Every day is almost a romantic hangout with her. We're always laughing, always enjoying ourselves."
This is the second marriage for the Queens, New York, native. She was previously married to Peter Marc Jacobson for 21 years, but they divorced in 1999 and two years later he came out as gay. They remain the best of friends though and work together as producing partners.Happily Divorced, which they co-created and she stars in, is a fictionalized version of their story.
Jacobson attended Drescher and Ayyadurai's wedding and posted a photo of himself, dressed in all white like the groom, with the newlyweds on their big day.
"Well i guess the news is out. the happy thrupple lol," Jacobson wrote on Facebook.
