Cruise through New Year Eve festival in Dubai

Dubai RTA offers special deals on marine transit modes including Water Bus, Water Taxi, Dubai Ferry and abra on December 31

The Public Transport Agency (PTA) of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), is offering special deals on marine transit modes (Water Bus, Water Taxi, Dubai Ferry and abra) on New Year’s Eve (December 31). Using water transport could also reduce congestion on the roads, according to PTA officials.
Dr Yousuf Ali, CEO of RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said: “People can experience the stunning views of New Year celebrations taking place at Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab and Atlantis during the boat cruises along the Dubai Waterfront.
Individuals interested in availing the service may contact RTA’s toll-free number (8009090) or the mobile number (050-4122574) for more details.” Cruises aboard the three water transit modes (Water Bus, Water Taxi and Dubai Ferry) will start at 10pm and conclude at 1am; whereas abra trips start at 11pm and go on till noon time of the following day.
The Water Bus starts from Marina Terrace station (Dubai Marina) and the Assembly Point will be near the Palm Jumeirah Bridge. Tickets will be available at Dh100 per person; children will get a 50 per cent discount and kids under two can enjoy the ride for free.
Water Taxi trips start from the Marina Promenade (Dubai Marina) and the Assembly Point will be nearby Burj Al Arab.
Anyone can hire the Water Taxi in an exclusive trip for a single person, family or a group of friends not more than 10.
The cost of hiring the Water Taxi is Dh3,000. Dubai Ferry trips start off the Marina Mall (Dubai Marina) to the Assembly Point near Burj Al Arab, and tickets are offered at Dh200 for the Silver class, Dh300 for the Gold Class, with children offered 50 per cent discount and kids under two are offered free entry. Abra trips will start from the Festival City station to the Dubai Creek and tickets are offered at Dh25 per person.

“The Dubai Ferry, Water Bus and the Water Taxi have a special appeal for residents, visitors and tourists of Dubai  as they give a glimpse of the glamorous and gorgeous beaches of Dubai punctuated by a number of iconic landmarks such The World Islands, Nakheel Islands and other heritage areas and fine hotels. The launch of this service promises to add a fresh momentum to the marine transit means on the occasion,” concluded Dr Yousuf.
