WHERE IS ZANZIBAR HOUSING CORPORATION HEADED?

Dear Managing Director of ZANZIBAR HOUSING CORPORATION!

This blog is bringing to your urgent attention to a grave issue that has long been neglected under the jurisdiction of your corporation - the Zanzibar Housing Corporation. A building located at Forodhani housing the famous Krishna Restaurant which is under your care, is rapidly deteriorating and may soon face a catastrophic collapse. The building, which you are charged with maintaining, is in an appalling state of disrepair, posing serious risks to both the safety of nearby residents and the long-term health of the surrounding infrastructures.

First and foremost, the building in question is in an advanced state of ruin, with rusty and damaged corrugated roof sheets that are clearly beyond repair. These roof sheets are not only unsightly but also hazardous, as they present an imminent risk of collapse, especially during heavy rainfall or strong winds. Furthermore, the walls of the building are completely without plaster, exposing the raw stones used in construction, which are now subject to weathering and decay. This lack of basic maintenance is completely unacceptable for any structure under the care of your corporation.

The video shown below is self-explanatory!

What is perhaps most alarming is that this building is dangerously close to several privately maintained properties. Should it collapse, the damage to these nearby buildings—properly maintained by their owners—will be immense. This is a situation that could have been prevented had your corporation taken its responsibilities seriously. In fact, it is an outright failure of duty that places the lives and livelihoods of citizens at risk. If action is not taken swiftly and promptly, the repercussions of this neglect will be catastrophic, and your corporation will bear the full brunt of the blame.

Despite numerous reports filed with your office on the state of this building (you can check with your engineer 0776.544.516), no visible action has been taken to address these concerns. This blog has witnessed the complete lack of effort put forth by your team in maintaining this property under your jurisdiction. It seems that the employees at the Zanzibar Housing Corporation are more focused on collecting rent than ensuring the safety and well-being of the people living in this building. This gross negligence is unconscionable, and it is high time that accountability is demanded from those entrusted with the care of public housing by the State.

This blog calls for a strong and unequivocal call to action. The continued inaction on the part of your corporation will not be tolerated. Residents and citizens, will no longer accept excuses or delays. The state of this building is an emergency, and it is your duty, as the Managing Director, to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out immediately. Failing to do so will not only endanger lives but will also bring further disrepute to the Zanzibar Housing Corporation.

In conclusion, this blog humbly implores you to take immediate and decisive action to repair this building which is in a state of neglect. This is not just a matter of maintenance; it is a matter of public safety and responsible governance. The time to act is now—before it is too late.
