He made the call earlier this week during the launch of his election campaigns at Mnyoma primary school grounds in Mdimba ward.
Opening his speech he said there is need to ensure that the collection and returning of nomination forms is peaceful as well as the counting of the votes and announcement of winners.
“Police need to work closely with aspirants from the opposition during the process of counting votes and announcing parliamentary and councillorship results,’ he said.
He said police should continue ensuring security of people and their properties during the campaigns as they did when candidates were picking up the nomination forms.
“We want democracy,’ he appealed.
“Police should make sure the election process ends well with no fighting or conflict,” he urged.
“To achieve this, there is need for security to be tightened during announcement of election results,” he advised.
He said once he is elected the Tandahimba MP, his priorities among other things will be to improve cashew nut farming in the region.
“I will make sure that farmers get good prices and are paid on time,’ he promised.‘I will also work to boost cassava farming for domestic and commercial use,’ he said.
“I went to China just to see how they cultivate cassava…I want you to reap more from the crop since its market is available,’ he told the supporters.
“if you elect me above the Chama Cha Mapinduzi contender, I will turn Mtwara into a major cassava production region,” he pledged.
