Karume rallies behind Magufuli, Shein!

MAMA Fatma Karume, widow to the founding father of Zanzibar has called upon Tanzanians and particularly the electorate on the Islands to vote for Dr John Magufuli and Dr Ali Mohamed Shein because they are best candidates.

Addressing Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) supporters during a campaign rally at ‘Garagara’ Ground in Zanzibar municipality, she said that she will be happy if votes cast by women surpass those of men in the October election.

“Better future for Tanzania lies in the hands of Dr Magufuli and Dr Shein,” Ms Karume said as she also drummed support for CCM candidates vying for House/ Parliament and councillorship.

Ambassador Seif Ali Iddi, a Member of the CCM Central Committee, also joined Karume to emphasize on picking Dr Magufuli and Dr Shein for presidency as he warned their main competitors (CUF) to desist from dirty tricks. “Hate speech and teasing people is improper as we head towards the polls.

Let us use acceptable language to woo voters,” said Mr Idd as he drummed up support for CCM because of good record.Speaker of the Zanzibar House, Mr Pandu Ameir Kificho, the Minister responsible for oil and gas, Mr Ramadani Abdalla Shaaban, and West Region party chairman, Mr Yussuf Mohammed lined up to ask Zanzibaris to vote for all CCM candidates to maintain the admirable pace of development.

Addressing thousands of Zanzibaris mainly CCM supporters, Dr Shein said that he has worked hard for the development of women, youth, children and people with disabilities, loans to entrepreneurs and many youth have benefited from employment created by both public and private sectors.

Dr Shein said he is asking for re-election so that he can move Zanzibar forward economically and socially, as he advised youth not to rely on government for employment because it is impossible to provide it to all. “You should not be cheated; no country has provided jobs to all its youth.

It is a challenge, which we are overcoming by encouraging self employment through innovation, creativeness and entrepreneurs,” Dr Shein said.

He added that his plans include developing fishing industry including deep sea fishing and construction of fish processing plants, provision of better fishing equipment, five star hotels and attracting more investors in an effort to minimize unemployment and increase economic growth.
