Lowassa: `My Govt will be friendly to commoners`

Presidential candidate for Chadema and the Coalition of People`s Constitution (UKAWA), Edward Lowassa addresses a campaign rally at, Singida region yesterday.
Presidential candidate for Chadema and the Coalition of People’s Constitution (UKAWA), Edward Lowassa yesterday continued with his campaign rallies in Dodoma and Singida Regions urging voters to vote for him saying if elected his government will be friendly to commoners.

Lowassa held campaign rallies in Kondoa district of Dodoma Region, Manyoni, Ikungi and Singida Municipality wooing people to vote for him because he is determined to come up with a very responsible and people-centred government.

Addressing the gathering at Tambuka Reli grounds in Manyoni Township, the candidate with his slogan ‘Mabadiliko’ meaning Change pledged to come up with a government which will be responsible to serve ordinary Tanzanians who are the majority.

He pledged to come up with a credible team that would make his government deliver its expected results within the shortest possible time.

Lowassa assured Manyoni residents that his regime is determined to address key challenges facing common people in the district and the country at large.

The outgoing Monduli MP, noted: “For more than 50 years, people of Manyoni have been living without having reliable supply of clean and safe water. But, after October 25, General Election water woes will be history.”

“What I ask you is to protect your ID until the polling day as I need as many votes as possible,” he said.

According to him, the ruling CCM are planning to steal the votes, so people should make sure that they come out in mass number and vote for him.

He also pledged to scale-up health service delivery in the country as well as ensuring that medical facilities are available in hospitals, health centres and dispensaries.

He also expressed his intention of supplying electricity in all villages across the country.

Addressing mammoth rally at Barafu grounds in Dodoma municipality on Friday evening, Lowassa said his team will be working in a supersonic speed that would make them realise its development endeavours.

"My interest is to see poverty as a history. We have a wide-range of resources," Lowassa told the full-packed grounds.

The candidate who is also being supported by other three parties of the Coalition of People's Constitution (UKAWA) assured young Tanzanians that once elected creating job opportunities for them will be his priority.

Ex-Prime Minister, Frederick Sumaye urged people not be discouraged by threatening statements made by  CCM aspirant, John Magufuli who tells people that voting opposition would plunge the country into anarchy as it was in Arabic countries.

"What I'm telling you is that don't fear anything nothing will happen. You just ignore him, vote for opposition you won't regret," Sumaye told the gathering.

He queried the cleanliness of Magufuli saying he's behind the corruption scam on the purchase of old boat that spent three hours from the Dar es Salaam port to Bagamoyo.

Sumaye also described the CCM Presidential candidate as a man who plunged the country into big loss when he seized a fishing vessel in a deep sea.
