Magufuli to modernise livestock-keeping sector

Out of the 447 members of opposition parties who joined CCM, 47 are in Kibaha and 400 in Kibiti districts. Those who joined CCM include Chadema’s Youth Wing (Bavicha) Kibaha District Publicity Secretary, Mr Grayson Nyakarungu, who was also a member of the party’s victory strategic committee.

Ms Hassan welcomed the 47 members from the opposition parties, stressing that the move is a testimony to the way the opposition parties do not value contribution of other members.

Speaking earlier, Ms Hassan promised that Kisiju to Mkuranga and Kimanzi to Kimanzichana roads will be taken on board so they can be upgraded to tarmac level if her party will be elected into office.

She added that Kifaurongo bridge connecting Mkuranga and Dar es Salaam is in bad shape, promising that her government will work on it.

The running mate also pledged that her government will ensure establishment of cashew nuts industries that will process and package cashew nuts to add value and fetch good prices in both local and international markets, if her party is elected to form the next government. While in Kibiti District, the presidential running mate said her government will establish an agency similar to Tanroads whose focus will be on feeder roads and other roads within districts.

She said this will speed up the process of ensuring all roads within districts are accessible in all seasons. Deputy Minister for Finance, Mr Adam Malima, urged the public to avoid voting out of anger against CCM because they were not pleased by the system used to select parliamentary candidates in opinion polls at the regional level.

Mr Malima who was defeated in the primaries by Abdallah Ulega, urged the public to forget what happened and join forces to put CCM back in power by voting for the party’s candidates.

He noted that the coalition of four opposition parties (Ukawa) presidential candidate, Mr Edward Lowassa and former premier, Mr Frederick Sumaye, have been mudslinging the ruling party, forgetting that they were members of the same party.

In another development, Kibaha Urban parliamentary candidate, Mr Sylivestry Koka appealed to voters to elect Dr Magufuli.
