Searching for a govt job in Dubai? Here's a special website!
Finding a job in Dubai couldn't have been easier.
A new smart platform will allow volunteers, disabled individuals and fresh graduates to apply for government jobs and initiatives, it was announced on Wednesday.
Dubai Smart Office launched Dubai Careers portal, in partnership with LinkedIn and Oracle, to assist government entities in attracting talents that would help achieve the city's vision of becoming the best city in the world by 2071.
The portal, dubaicareers.ae, features special corners for special needs and fresh graduates to allow them to apply for the jobs that suit their qualifications and skills. In line with the Year of Giving, the portal will display volunteering opportunities for individuals interested in humanitarian initiatives.

Dr Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director General of Dubai Smart Office, said the platform aims to enable Dubai residents avail job opportunities that will allow them to build their careers, while assisting the government in attracting the best expertise.
"It isn't only about finding a job, but changing the concept of employment in Dubai into finding a future career path," she said.
The online platform has already posted 355 vacancies and over 600 job openings from 30 government entities.
The portal, which will later post vacancies of the private sector, enables users to extract their LinkedIn profiles, creating their own universal portfolio they can use to apply for more than one vacancy.
In return, the smart system will provide employers of a ranking of the top eligible profiles that match job requirements. Employers will be able to conduct video interviews with candidates.
"CVs are becoming a thing of the past. The youth have been doing a great job promoting themselves online through their social media platforms. While employers had to manually look through hundreds of CVs to select the right candidate, now recruitment happens with a click of a button," said Bin Bishr.
Wesam Lootah, CEO of Smart Dubai Government Establishment, the technology arm of Smart Dubai Initiative, said the system will shorten the time and effort of both establishments and jobseekers and lever government efficiency.
He said that having an opening for different segments of the society helps utilize skills and innovative minds of communities.
"Many jobs nowadays look for fresh graduates because more than degrees and experience, they need skills and innovative ideas in a quick-paced workplace," said Lootah.
He added, "A smart city cannot be achieved by technology only but by people qualified to manage and operate technologies and apps. Qualified people are the main pillar to fulfill the leadership's vision of seeking the smartest and happiest city in the world.
