- The UAE on Saturday condemned the terrorist explosion and expressed its solidarity with the kingdom.
Bahrain's Interior Ministry made the announcement on Saturday afternoon, alleging that Iran was in communication and guiding those responsible for the pipeline explosion and other attacks. "It is an act of sabotage, a serious terrorist act aimed at harming the interests of the nation and endangering the population," the interior ministry said on Twitter.Emergency services brought the blaze under control after it was discovered early on Saturday, it said, adding that national oil company Bapco had turned off the flow of oil. The fire service also evacuated homes in the nearby village of Buri, 15km south of Manama, it added.
No group has claimed the attack. Prosecutors have begun an investigation. Iran had no immediate comment. Bahrain relies on the Abu Safa field, which it shares with Saudi Arabia, for much of its oil, pumped in via a 230,000-barrel-per-day pipeline.
The UAE on Saturday condemned the terrorist explosion and expressed its solidarity with the kingdom.
"The UAE condemns this coward terrorist act, which seeks to undermine the security of the Kingdom of Bahrain," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said in a statement on Saturday, affirming the UAE's unequivocal position against all forms of violence and terrorism.
