Outside Maweni Hospital in Tanzania, there is always a long line of parents, waiting patiently with their sick children.
Inside the hospital, there is a team of hard-working nurses who try to see every child in this line, day after day.
I worked alongside these nurses while volunteering in Tanzania with Cuso International.

I couldn’t have gone to Tanzania without support from Cuso International’s generous donors. But after I left, there was still work to be done. Maweni Hospital needs more medical volunteers to help nurses on their rounds and offer guidance on their clinical skills.

With a major doctor shortage in rural areas of Tanzania, nurses take on most of the care themselves. They prescribe treatments, perform resuscitation and tend to children with life-threatening diseases like malaria, malnutrition, or pneumonia.
Your gift today will send Canadian volunteers to improve health workers’ skills so they can provide more children with life-saving care.
After sharing my expertise in Tanzania, I was reminded that in disadvantaged communities, a little bit of knowledge can go a long way—it can make the difference between a life saved and a life lost. By supporting Cuso International so can you! Thank you,Dr. Bruce D’Souza Cuso International volunteer, Tanzania
P.S. Cuso International cannot send Canadian volunteers to make a difference around the world without donations from people like you.And thanks to our funders, every dollar you give will have the power of $10, making an even greater impact in the communities we serve.
