- Authorities seize dog over unpaid loan, sell it on eBay
- They considered taking the father's wheelchair

- The listing described the dog as a 'sweet female pedigree pug'.
The black pug named Edda was owned by a family from the town of Ahlen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The dog was taken away in a dispute over outstanding debts including a local dog tax. The town authorities put the pet up for sale on the auction site, describing it was a 'sweet female pedigree pug'.
However, officials are now dealing with a legal complaint from the buyer, a policewoman named Michaela Jordan, who claimed the dog was unwell. She also claimed the town authorities falsely advertised it. She had to spend a substantial amount over its medical treatment.
According to Daily Mail reports, the debt collectors are said to have visited the family's home and looked for valuables to cover the unpaid money. It is claimed they considered taking the father's wheelchair but could not do so as it belonged to an insurance group. The authorities decided to take away the one-year-old dog and put it up for sale, stating in the online listing that it had been vaccinated and microchipped.
Jordan said she was suspicious of the low price for the unusually coloured pug which would actually cost around double of what was advertised. Hence she phoned the number listed on the advert and got to speak to an Ahlen official who explained to her how the pug came to be listed on eBay.
Surprisingly, after much ado over the bizarre case, the town authorities said it was 'not usual' to confiscate the dog adding that it was legal.
