EDITOR'S NOTE!
At ZNK, we are always cautious when encouraging our readers to support charitable causes. Before publishing this appeal, we took time to satisfy ourselves that the project is genuine and that the donations entrusted to it are being used for their intended purpose.
The water initiative is being coordinated by Bi Mariam Said Salum of phone number: +255.713.300.024 (TIGO), a lady who has demonstrated honesty, dedication and a genuine concern for the welfare of her community.
ZNK and ZACADIA (Zanzibar-Canadian Diaspora Association) have worked closely with Bi Mariam Said Salum on a number of clean water projects and can confidently attest to her integrity, dedication, and consistent record of successfully completing and delivering clean water wells to the communities she serves. Donations previously entrusted to her have been transformed into functioning wells that continue to provide safe drinking water to communities in need to this day. For the sake of transparency and accountability, we have attached videos of some of these completed projects. While no charitable work should ever be accepted blindly, we are comfortable recommending this initiative to those who wish to extend a helping hand. Every contribution, regardless of its size, has the potential to transform lives by bringing safe drinking water closer to families who need it most.
As always, we encourage donors to give willingly, according to their ability, and with the sincere intention of improving the lives of others.
"Whoever saves one life, it is as though he has saved all mankind."
- Qur'an 5:32
- Prophet Muhammad ï·º (Hadith)
N.B. "When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him." — Sahih Muslim
Building wells is among the finest examples of Sadaqah Jariyah. Every person who drinks from them, cooks with the water, performs ablution, or benefits in any way becomes part of an ongoing reward for those who made the project possible.
