His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the names of a new batch of beneficiaries of the Shaikh Zayed Housing Programme (ZHP).
The batch, the biggest this year, includes 2,854 Emiratis who will get a total assistance of Dh1.2 billion, in addition to 260 final approvals at an estimated value of Dh130 million. The batch includes those who fall in the categories of those getting loans, and grants.
This approval coincides with the celebration of World Habitat Day, which reflects on the state of cities and villages and men’s right to housing as one of the key human rights.
The day also reminds the world of its collective responsibility to improve the habitat for future generations.
Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Works and Board Chairman of the Zayed Housing Programme (ZHP),
said the programme’s announcement of this year’s biggest batch follows directives by Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid.
He said Shaikh Mohammed’s directive is an important indicator of the government’s keenness to achieve housing stability for Emirati families and provide them with a decent life.
The notes of final approval will be delivered to beneficiaries at the “Partners Forum” which will be organised by the ZHP at the Cultural Palace in Sharjah today.
The names will be announced through various local media channels.
