"The decrease of the annual headline inflation rate ... explains that the speed of price increase for commodities in November 2013 has decreased compared to the speed recorded in October 2013," the NBS said.
"The annual inflation rate which excludes food and energy for the month of November 2013 has decreased to 5.3 percent from 5.7 percent recorded in October 2013," the statistics office said.
The monthly inflation rate was 0.6 percent in November, unchanged from the previous month.
The International Monetary Fund said last month it expects Tanzania's inflation to slip back towards the government's target of 5 percent by mid-2014.
