Nearly 228 houses will be immediately delivered to citizens at South Barsha as part of the second phase of a 1240-house Barsha project.
The houses, built on Islamic and Andalusia designs, were ordered by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as part of his keenness to provide every family in Dubai with proper housing to ensure a stable and healthy social environment. Sami Gargash, Chief Executive Officer of the Mohammad bin Rashid Housing Establishment, said the Establishment was committed to implement HH’s instructions regarding housing projects with immediate effect as part of his vision to secure decent and comfortable living standards to citizens.
He affirmed the UAE, under the leadership of the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed, would spare no efforts to satisfy requirements of the UAE citizen, being the real asset and contributor to the country’s promising future. Barhan Al Habai, Assistant Executive Director for Architectural Sector, said the 1240 house project at Barsha, which cost AED 1.4 billion, was 77.9% complete and is expected to be completed in 7 September 2014. Construction works commenced in October 2008. The houses satisfy the living style of the Emirati family in terms of health, entertainment and aesthetic specifications.
Total cost of the second phase of 228 houses, whose works started in 23 February 2009 on a total area of about 29.23 hectares, stood at Dhs 272 million.
