The Ministry of Interior (MoI) honoured Mira, the first customer and citizen of the UAE to use its smartphone application service. The young girl used the service to submit her passport renewal application and enter her ID code.Major-General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Naturalisation, Residency and Ports Affairs, handed Mira a certificate of appreciation along with a commemorative gift in his office on Sunday and wished her good luck and excellence.
Major-General Al Khaili said: “The Smartphone application service saves time and effort for UAE citizens. These convenient applications embody the strategy of the MoI of achieving and providing the highest levels of secure services to customers who need to use their Emirates ID and follow the simple and quick steps. The strategy aims to improve performance indicators, and guarantee fast services by providing updates for the smart applications to add more services and simplify procedures.” The honouring ceremony was attended by Brigadier Saeed Rakan Al Rashedi, Head of Naturalisation Department at the Naturalisation, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector. —
