Zantel’s Senior Finance and Operations Manager, Leonard Kamita, said the cooperation is meant to widen the mobile operator’s client base both in urban and rural areas.
“Most projects were previously not improved because of resource constraint and unfriendly infrastructure, however, with this partnership we are now ready for the 21st century challenges,” said the optimistic Operations Manager.
“We are now able to reach a wider ranger of low income customers across the country and offer them our assortment of client tailored services,” Kamita added.In his part, Managing Director Rifaro Africa, James Gathonjia, said online business creates opportunity for customers to do transactions hassle free and so it attracts new customers, he noted.
“It is not only business people, but by joining our network, Zantel’s online shopping has been eased and increased,” he said.
“With increased access to these services, clients’ livelihoods are improved,” he added citing that all this is achieved via the internet which many more can now access with the increased proliferation of smart phones into the domestic market.
“Tanzanians stand to benefit from the new technology because a big population now owns smart phones and as such, the introduction of this online business platform comes at the right time and acts as catalyst to national social-economic development,’ he said.
Meanwhile, the two companies will provide its clients with gas server to at least 10,000 households in Dar es Salaam to check on costs of the product consumption.
Rifaro is a network marketing company that uses direct selling approach to distribute telecommunication products and services primarily and exclusively using an online platform.
“Part of Zantel's Partnership with Rifaro Africa is in acquisition of quality customer and creating Zantel Ambassadors. In this light Rifaro has been conducting countrywide seminars to ensure that we have skilled members; in Morogoro we have conducted a three day training of trainers (ToT) at Morogoro Hotel,” Zantel said in a statement earlier this year.
The training of trainers (ToT) that was held from 26th to 29th January covered various Zantel Products and Services (EzyPesa, Voice, and Data), Marketing and Sales Skills that were imparted to the trainers.
A total number of 53 trainers from Mbeya, Arusha, Mwanza, Tanga, Zanzibar, Songea, Pwani, Njombe, Iringa, Geita, Dar es Salaam and Morogoro participated in the three days training.
Rifaro Africa is an EzyPesa Super Dealer, who operates a multi-level marketing (network marketing) scheme, their main objective is customer acquisition and retention observing EzyPesa and GSM registration requirements.
Members Joining the Multi-Level Scheme pay a membership fee of 76,500/- which gives them an entry pack comprising of Zantel SIM card, Zantel Airtime of 10,000/- and Scheme Instructions manual. The member earn commission by recruiting others in their hierarchy for up to 10 Generations, Recruitment and Usage commissions are paid by Rifaro Africa via Ezypesa.
