Which is the best country to live in: Germany or Canada?!

Germany is better than Canada. BY FAR.

The same is also true when comparing most Western European countries with Canada.

Canada is TERRIBLY OVERRATED and it’s far more similar to the USA than people realise.
After all, Canada is still NORTH AMERICA, not Europe.

  • Canada’s gun problem is SECOND WORST among developed countries, only beaten by the USA (Chile is a developing country).
    In fact,
Toronto alone has OVER 400 SHOOTINGS per year since 2018. (Data taken from Toronto Police’s statistics)
  • Canada’s homicide rate is the FOURTH WORST among developed countries, only beaten by the USA, Lichtenstein and Belgium. (Note: Belgium is not shown on UN’s stats)
  • Canada’s healthcare system is better than the USA’s but SUBSTANDARD compared to other developed countries
  • Canadians work FAR MORE than the Germans or other Europeans. Even the Japanese work less than the Canadians. Canadian work-and-life-balance is FAR WORSE than what people think. Germans, like other Europeans, get a month of paid vacation. Canadians only get two weeks.
  • German transport system is FAR SUPERIOR than Canadian transport system.
    • German autobahn covers the ENTIRE country extensively and connects all population centres. It’s also the world’s first controlled-access motorway system and it’s built at a very high standard. Canadian highways, on the other hand, are poorly built, poorly maintained, and there’s no nationwide motorway system in Canada as the Trans-Canada Highway is NOT built at motorway standards except certain parts.
    • German railway system is also FAR SUPERIOR to Canadian railway. The ICE covers the entire country with frequent and fairly reliable services. It also connects with its neighbouring countries’ high speed rail system too, making it very easy to travel around Germany or to other European countries. In contrast, Canadian VIA Rail is nothing but a JOKE. It’s a crawling snail compared to Germany’s 320 km/h ICE system and its service area is extremely limited.
    • It’s much cheaper and easier for Germans to fly than for Canadians. Europe has a well-developed market for different kinds of airlines and passengers. Canadians flying to another city within Canada will have to pay $100 minimum in most cases. In contrast, Germans (and other Europeans) can easily fly to other place in Europe at a fraction of that cost. I’ve frequently flown in Europe for prices about £15, and it wasn’t even the cheapest price.
    • Germany cities, like other European cities, are far more walkable and far less car-independent than Canadian cities, due to extensive public transport systems with frequent services, dense walkable city layout, and extensive cycling infrastructure. Most of Canada has none of these, and even cities like Toronto and Montreal are far more car-dependent than German cities, despite being considered ‘walkable’ by Canadian standards.
