Speaking at the product launch, Huawei Technologies Tanzania Device Country Manager, Mr Peter Zhang, described the Y360 and Y625 as powerful smart phones offered at an affordable price that will make them more popular in the market.
“We are pleased once again to partner with Tigo Tanzania and confident that this innovation driven partnership will grow substantially and yield more innovative solutions,” Mr Zhang said.
The Huawei Y360 is for the budget market. It has a 4-inch display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and runs Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat.
“This phone is specifically designed to cater for the needs of social networkers and uses the android application platform, while the Huawei Y625 has a 5-inch display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and also runs Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat," he explained.
Tigo’s Head of Internet and Devices, Mr David Zacharia said, the new handsets would enable the community cope with the fast growing technologies, with connection to internet anywhere.
Mr Zacharia said the Y360 is the best and affordable entry level smart phone in the market, best for taking pictures as well as favorable for dual sim card users while the Y625 is the best and affordable five inch screen in the market.
Tigo customers will enjoy lifetime bundles upon purchase of the smartphones, which includes 2GB of Data/Internet, 5,000/- Airtime, free music for six months.
The Y360 will retail at all tigo shops for 160,000/- and the Y625 at 295,000/-.
