A truck driver in Saudi Arabia was arrested after a video showing the truck crash into a hideway sign went viral on social media.
According to media reports, the incident happened along the Jubail highway in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province.
As reported by arabianbusiness.com, Ahmad Al Yami, head of the transportation ministry office in the Eastern Province, was quoted as saying by Saudi site Sabq, "Under cooperation between the two official sides, the truck was impounded, the driver was detained and the owner was summoned".
"The owner and the driver will bear the cost of the new overhead sign in line with the rules and regulations for destroying public property. There is a zero-tolerance policy towards anyone who breaks the rules, and we urge all drivers to be careful, comply with the traffic regulations and preserve public property," he added.
