130-year-old man arrives in Saudi Arabia for Haj pilgrimage!

Samri, who is accompanied by his family of six, is being hosted by the King Salman's Hajj and Umrah Guests Programme.

A 130-year-old Indonesian national arrived in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday for the annual Haj pilgrimage.

Ohi Aidros Samri arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport to perform Haj in Makkah, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Samri, who is accompanied by his family of six, is being hosted by the King Salman's Hajj and Umrah Guests Programme to perform Haj rituals this year, the Arab News reported (https://www.facebook.com/rtarabic.ru/videos/3010559275682862/).

In interview with SPA, Ohi and members of his family expressed their thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince for the care and services being provided for pilgrims, praising the facilities and services provided to them from the first moment of their arrival in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The boy was brought to the hospital with a swelling in his lower right jaw.

Doctors have extracted an astounding 526 teeth from the mouth of a seven-year-old boy in a rare surgery performed at the city's Saveetha Dental College and Hospital, doctors said.

Suffering from a rare case of "compound composite ondontome", the boy was brought to the hospital with a swelling in his lower right jaw.

"The parents first noticed the swelling when the boy was three years old. But they didn't bother much as the swelling wasn't much then and the boy did not cooperate with investigative procedures either.

"Later as swelling increased, the parents brought the boy to our hospital," said P.Senthilnathan, Professor -Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the hospital on Wednesday.

Iran must follow international rules, said Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab.

At least 57 inmates were killed during a prison riot in northern Brazil on Monday as rival gang factions fought each other, an official said.

Pakistani military plane crashes near garrison city, kills 17!

RAWALPINDI: A Pakistani military aircraft on a training flight crashed in a built-up area in the garrison city of Rawalpindi early on Tuesday killing all five crew members and 12 civilians and setting off a blaze that left a pile of smoking rubble.
A statement from the Pakistani military said the aircraft was on a routine training flight when it crashed but there was no immediate word on the cause of the accident or the type of aircraft involved.
Military and civilian rescue workers took at least 12 injured civilians to hospitals in the city and extinguished the fire, leaving the smoking ruins of a house which appeared to have borne the brunt of the crash.

Transportation Security Administration officers at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport detected a missile launcher in a man's checked luggage early morning on July 29, a statement issued by the TSA said.

TSA officers immediately contacted airport police who tracked down the traveler and detained him for questioning. The man, a resident of Jacksonville, Texas, told officials that he was an active military personnel traveling home from Kuwait and he wanted to keep the missile launcher as a souvenir.

ANGEAC-CHARENTE, France: Scientists have unearthed a huge two-metre dinosaur bone in a wine growing village in southwestern France dubbed a “national treasure” for its prehistoric gems.
The 140-million-year-old thigh bone, which weighs 400 kilogrammes, is the latest discovery at the vast Angeac-Charente palaeontological site near Bordeaux, where experts and volunteers have dug up thousands of bones over the past decade.
But thanks to its remarkably good condition, the femur — which scientists say probably belonged to a gigantic sauropod — could help piece together an incomplete set of bones which the latest find resembles.
“We were wondering how big it was. We kept saying, ‘Oh, there’s more!’” said Maxime Lasseron, the doctoral student who made the gigantic discovery.

Washington is "not seeking dialogue," Iran said.

Iran said on Monday the US had rejected an offer from Tehran for more robust nuclear inspections in exchange for lifting sanctions because Washington is "not seeking dialogue".

Under the 2015 nuclear deal agreed to by Tehran, Iran must ratify a document, known as the additional protocol, prescribing more intrusive inspections of its nuclear programme eight years after the deal was adopted.

GILROY: California police were searching on Monday for a suspected accomplice of the gunman who killed three people, including a 6-year-old boy, in a mass shooting at a food festival south of San Francisco.
The gunman was shot dead by police officers within minutes of opening fire early on Sunday evening at the three-day Gilroy Garlic Festival, about 48 km southeast of the city of San Jose.
He was identified as Santino William Legan, 19, according to CBS News and NBC News, both citing unnamed law enforcement officials. The Gilroy police department declined to confirm the reports but planned to hold a news briefing later on Monday morning.

UK says EU must drop opposition to renegotiating Brexit deal!

LONDON: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday urged EU leaders to drop their opposition to renegotiating Brexit, as the pound slumped on growing concerns about a no-deal departure.
Johnson, who took office last week, wants to change the exit terms struck by predecessor Theresa May but insists he will leave the European Union without any agreement at all if necessary on October 31.
Brussels has said it will not reopen the text.
“The withdrawal agreement is dead,” Johnson told reporters during his first visit to Scotland.
“I am confident we will get a deal but it is also right we prepare for no deal,” he said.

PRESSURE ON BRUSSELS
The government has not yet announced plans for Johnson to visit EU capitals, and a spokeswoman indicated he would not go until Brussels changes its stance.

Boy, eight, killed after being pushed onto railway tracks at German station!

An eight-year-old boy was run over by a train and killed at Frankfurt’s main station after a man pushed him and his mother onto the tracks, German police said.

The boy was killed on Monday as a high-speed ICE train was pulling into the station, one of Germany’s busiest.

Police said the mother was able to escape but the boy was hit and run over by the train and suffered fatal injuries, police spokeswoman Isabell Neumann said.

The 40-year-old suspect fled the scene with passers-by in pursuit and was arrested near the station, police said.

He was being questioned and there was no immediate information on his possible motive.

Ms Neumann said there appeared to be no connection between the suspect and the victims.

The boy’s mother was taken to a hospital and also was being questioned.

All three 2020 iPhone models to support 5G: Report!

The iPhone maker would launch three iPhone 11 models in September this year.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has told investors that all three iPhone models slated for release next year would support 5G technology.

Kuo said earlier that the next year's 5.4-inch and 6.7-inch iPhone models would support 5G while a third-a cheaper 6.1-inch iPhone XR successor-would only access LTE networks.

"Now he has issued a new report that all three iPhone models would support 5G," The Verge reported on Sunday (July 28).

"We now believe that all three new 2H20 iPhone models would support 5G for the following reasons. (1) Apple has more resource for developing the 5G iPhone after the acquisition of Intel base-band business. (2) We expect that the prices of 5G Android smartphones will decline to $249-349 in 2H20.

Iran to restart Arak nuclear reactor!

The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation, Ali Akbar Salehi, told lawmakers on Sunday that Iran will restart activities at the Arak heavy water nuclear reactor, the Isna news agency reported.

Isna cited a member of parliament who attended the meeting. Heavy water can be employed in reactors to produce plutonium, a fuel used in nuclear warheads.

Iran stopped complying in May with some commitments in the 2015 nuclear deal that was agreed with global powers, after the United States unilaterally withdrew from the accord in 2018 and re-introduced sanctions on Tehran.

The Saudi Arabia stock exchange had also announced a long holiday for the upcoming Eid Al Adha celebrations.

Kuwaiti meteorologist and historian Adel al Saadoun said on Saturday, July 27, that Eid Al Adha will fall on Sunday, August 11.

He told KUNA that the first of Dhu al-Hijjah month will be on Friday, August 2 and standing on Mount Arafat will be on Saturday, August 10.

The Saudi Arabia stock exchange had also announced a long holiday for the upcoming Eid Al Adha celebrations on on July 22.

It will observe a holiday starting August 9 until August 17-a nine-day break.

Observations of light coming from a star zipping in orbit around the humongous black hole at the center of our galaxy have provided fresh evidence backing Albert Einstein’s 1915 theory of general relativity, astronomers said on Thursday.
Researchers studied a star called S0-2, boasting a mass roughly 10 times larger than the sun, as it travels in an elliptical orbit lasting 16 years around the supermassive black hole called Sagittarius A* residing at the center of the Milky Way 26,000 light years from Earth.
They found that the behavior of the star’s light as it escaped the extreme gravitational pull exerted by the black hole, with 4 million times the sun’s mass, conformed to Einstein’s theory’s predictions. The famed theoretical physicist proposed the theory, considered one of the pillars of science, to explain the laws of gravity and their relation to other natural forces.

Romanian murder suspect admits killing two teens!

BUCHAREST: A murder suspect in the southern Romanian town of Caracal has admitted to killing two teenage girls, his lawyer said on Sunday, in a case that sparked nationwide outrage over the way authorities handled it.

Gheorghe Dinca, 65, a mechanic, has been detained pending an investigation into the deaths of Alexandra Macesanu, 15, who was last seen earlier this week, and Luiza Melencu, 18, who was reported missing in April.
“He confessed the facts,” Dinca’s lawyer Bogdan Alexandru told reporters at the suspect’s residence in Caracal. He said he could not yet elaborate.
Macesanu called the European emergency number 112 three times, saying she had been kidnapped by a man while hitchhiking to her home village from nearby Caracal.

Britain ramps up preparations for ‘very real’ no-deal Brexit!

LONDON: The British government is working on the assumption that the European Union will not renegotiate its Brexit deal and is ramping up preparations to leave the bloc on October 31 without an agreement, senior ministers said on Sunday.
Boris Johnson, who took over as British prime minister on Wednesday with a promise to deliver Brexit by the end of October “no ifs or buts”, plans to seek a new exit deal with the EU. The EU has said repeatedly that the deal cannot be reopened.
Leading Brexit supporter Michael Gove, who Johnson has put in charge of ‘no deal’ preparations, wrote in the Sunday Times newspaper that the government would undertake “intensive efforts” to secure a better deal from the EU.
“We still hope they will change their minds, but we must operate on the assumption that they will not … No deal is now a very real prospect and we must make sure that we are ready,” Gove wrote.

The report by a presidential panel of experts, released on Sunday, poured water on wholesale land seizures without payment — as feared by some farmers, investors and foreign governments.
It recommended that expropriation without compensation be applied under specific circumstances, including abandoned land; land held purely for speculative purposes; land already occupied and used by labour tenants and former labour tenants; and inner city buildings with absentee landlords.
Parliament is due to start debates on proposed changes to the land expropriation bill in October.

Sudan extends ceasefire with southern rebels!

JUBA: Sudanese and South Sudanese officials agreed late on Saturday with the leader of an alliance of armed factions operating along their joint border to extend a ceasefire and grant humanitarian access to some areas affected by conflict in Sudan.
Sudan says neighbouring South Sudan has been giving refuge to Malik Agar, one of many rebels in Sudan. The two countries share a long and porous border, and have a history of supporting armed groups on each others’ territories after oil-rich South Sudan became independent in 2011.
Sudan and Agar signed a ceasefire on April 17 covering the Blue Nile and South Kordofan regions, a week after Sudanese President Omar al Bashir was overthrown after 30 years of rule. That agreement was due to expire at the end of July.
