Hatua ya Waziri Mkuu, Mizengo Pinda, kutangaza nia ya kuwania Urais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano katika Uchaguzi Mkuu wa 2015, kupitia Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), imeibua siri nzito kuhusu uwezo na utendaji wake.

NIPASHE Jumapili limefanya tathmini ya tangu kushika wadhifa huo Septemba, 2, 2008, baada ya kujiuzulu kwa mtangulizi wake, Edward Lowassa, ambaye pia anatajwa kutaka kuwania Urais.

Wachambuzi wa masuala ya siasa wanamuelezea Pinda kwa namna tofauti zinazohusisha uwezo na upungufu wake katika kuishika nafasi hiyo, ikiwa atateuliwa na CCM na kushinda uchaguzi huo.

Miongoni mwa maeneo yaliyobainishwa katika utafiti huo kwa wiki nzima, ni pale Pinda, anapotajwa kuwa ni mwanasiasa asiyekuwa na ‘rekodi chafu’ katika utumishi wake wa umma, ama mwenye kashfa zinazohusishwa na uhujumu uchumi wa nchi au matumizi mabaya ya rasilimali na ofisi za umma.

Tanzania eyes European football matches to attract more tourists

Looking to attract Spanish and other European tourists, Tanzania is eyeing the leading European soccer teams to join a hand in its tourism

promotion and marketing campaigns through key European football
leagues.

A group 25 former Real Madrid players made a five-day visit to
Tanzania few days ago in a trip that was aimed at knowing this African
safari destination, also to play a friendly football match with former
Tanzanian players.

About 40,000 football fans from various parts of the world led by
Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, an ardent soccer fan, watched the
friendly match played at the National Stadium, an ultra-modern sports
ground in Tanzanian capital city of Dar es Salaam.

During their visit to Tanzania, the former Real Madrid legends visited
Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, and then Ngorongoro Crater,
famous for wildlife safaris in Africa.

The former Real Madrid legends including the team’s former soccer
stars Ramon Cobbo, Luis Figo, Christian Karembeu, Fabio Cannavaro and
Michael James Owen took a chance to visit and spend a day in
Ngorongoro Conservation Area where they made a day-long wildlife
safari inside Ngorongoro Crater.

DUBAI (Reuters) - Iran's possible response to new U.S. sanctions could "not be pleasant", its foreign minister said on Sunday, raising the prospect of tit-for-tat retribution against the Islamic Republic's old adversary weeks ahead of fresh nuclear talks.

Iranian leaders reacted with dismay to Friday's announcement that Washington was going to penalize a number of Iranian and other foreign companies, banks and airlines for violating sanctions against Tehran, most of which are tied to a decade-old dispute about its nuclear program.

Washington said the moves were a signal that there would be no let-up of sanctions while international talks were underway to ease the economic measures in exchange for Iran's agreement to curb its nuclear activities..

Iran says its nuclear program is for civilians ends only and denies allegations from the West that it may want to develop nuclear weapons.

Ten Killed At African Barrick Operations in Tanzania

As many as 10 people have been killed by police this year at African Barrick Gold's operations in Tanzania, according to a new report from two NGOs - MiningWatch Canada and Rights and Accountability in Development (RAID) in the UK. The North Mara gold mine in northern Tanzania is located in an area where some 70,000 Kuria people live in seven villages not far from the Kenyan border. Most of the villagers are very poor and thousands make a living by bribing local police and security officials at the mine to allow them to scavenge for gold flakes in the waste dumps. (The practice of small scale mining has been taking place for years even before Barrick began mining operations) The new deaths were revealed almost 18 months after Leigh Day, a UK law firm, filed a lawsuit against the company on March 28, 2013, in the High Court of England and Wales on behalf of the the families of six men who were killed at the mine and a seventh who was left paraplegic. The lawsuit was filed against UK-based African Barrick, which is a subsidiary of Barrick Gold, a Canadian company. MiningWatch Canada and RAID say they interviewed over 30 victims and their family members between June and July of this year.

Zanzibar: Changes Implemented to Current Trade System to Facilitate Development

Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce has stated that urgent measures are needed in order to change the current situation in the country; the unfriendly trade system, taxation and market regulations have to be modified to attract investment and expand Zanzibar’s market, and thus tackle the issue of poverty and unemployment.

"URGENT measures are needed to improve the business environment and the government must act to promote industries and boost production and sales."

This is what the Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (ZNCCIA) told the Ministry of Trade, Industries, and Marketing in a report recently.

The ZNCCIA presented to the minister the report with a number of key issues that must be addressed if business, production and exports were to thrive. ZCCIA concerns follow the result of a recent survey on the development of industries and the challenges facing members of the business community.

The report highlights ten areas of concern and suggests how to overcome the challenges, thanks to BEST-AC which supported the study led by Mr Ahmed Baalawy - board member of the Chamber.

Lack of workable plans, reliable market, difficulties and costs in importing raw material and exporting products, protection of internal market, and lack of investment/development, were problems identified during the survey by the Chamber.The latest report reveals that the majority of traders, investors, and entrepreneurs have experienced different challenges, and that the government should know that the development of industries remains vital to people and the economy.

It highlights that industrialization can provide a base for rapid growth of income for the country and individual persons. With the increasing population the government is unable to provide for employment.

Hence it is very important to set up industries to absorb this surplus labour.

When inside that country, be a citizen of that country. When dealing with the local police or any other local or federal official, if a question comes up about your citizenship, tell them you are citizen of that country. If they ask where you live, tell them in America. Don’t mention your dual citizenship or that you are an American unless specifically asked. In the eyes of that government you are citizen of that country first and subject to its laws and regulations even though you live in America

If you go to a US embassy or consulate in your native country for help or assistance, represent yourself as an American. The embassy staff will probably ask about your dual citizenship. Why? Because as far as international law goes, your native country has legal claim on you first when you’re in that country. This may limit the kind of help the US embassy or consulate can give you, especially if you are in trouble with your native country’s laws and government.

Zanzibar ina mengi ya kujifunza kura ya maoni Scotland

Hivi karibuni Scotland itapiga kura ya maoni (Referendum) kuamua kwamba inataka kubaki katika United Kingdom ama laa.

Kura hii ni muhimu sana kwa mustakabali wa nchi ya Scotland ambayo kwa miaka mingi imekuwa chini ya himaya ya Uingereza baada ya kujiunga pamoja na kuunda United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Umoja huu uliundwa mwaka 1801.

Kura ya maoni itafanyika tarehe 18 Septemba 2014 na kwenye karatasi ya kura kutakuwa na suala moja tu nalo ni : Je unataka Scotland iwe ni nchi huru? Na jibu liwe ima ni ‘Ndiyo’ au ‘Hapana’.

Scotland, kama Zanzibar, ilikuwa ni nchi huru ambayo kwa kuungana na Uingereza mwaka 1801 ikapoteza utaifa wake kama Zanzibar ilivyopoteza utaifa wake walipoungana na Tanganyika.

Dual citizenship or dual nationality is simply being a citizen of two countries. The United States allows dual citizenship. For example, if you were born in Mexico you are a native-born Mexican. If you move to the United States and become a naturalized US citizen, you now have dual citizenship. Dual citizens can carry two passports and essentially live, work, and travel freely within their native and naturalized countries.
Some dual citizens also enjoy the privilege of voting in both countries, owning property in both countries, and having government health care in both countries.
Dual citizenship is becoming more common in our increasingly interconnected, global economy. Many countries are now seeing the advantages of dual citizenship and are liberalizing their citizenship laws (India, the Phillippines, and Mexico are recent examples). Dual citizenship has the advantages of broadening a country’s economic base by promoting trade and investment between the dual citizen’s two respective countries.
Some countries do not allow dual citizenship. For example, if you were born South Korea and become a US citizen, you will most likely lose your Korean citizenship if the Korean government finds out about it. But an increasing number of these countries that prohibit dual citizenship are not enforcing their laws regarding dual citizenship. So, you may informally have dual citizenship if your native country does not take away your citizenship after you become a US citizen.
